Have you tried jetpacking up and searching that way?ĮDIT: I just remembered that you can also attach a rotor frame (using a single steel plate, if resources are rare) to your grid, grind off the large-grid rotor head, replace it with a small-grid rotor head (using the control menu), and attach a small-grid medium storage container to the small-grid rotor head. I jetpack along the ground (skimming, so to speak), when I'm desperate to find ore and the locations are not readily visible from up high.īut looking at your screenshot I'm thinking that you should be able to spot ore formations from about a kilometer or so above the ground. Usually cobalt is found near clusters of iron and nickel, but it's also deeper and harder to detect unless you're really close to it. Passenger seats can be built with as few as 10 interior plates, and they serve as very cheap cargo containers when you're desperate (as well as a place to recharge). Should I just take gravel out and throw it on the ground? Is it worthless? Then the Survival Kit has a tube running out the back and a sorter that takes iron ingots to my Basic Assembler. What this picture shows is my long painstakingly conveyor belt tube system that is directed to my Survival Kit. ![]() Why does the game make it so incredibly difficult to make storage containers? I'm doing all this just so I can separate the gravel from my deadfall mining. I could take the metal grids off my drop pad's thrusters, but that still leaves me with trying to find cobalt. I spent literally over 8 hours yesterday constructing tubes from the survival kit I grinded off my drop pad to install it near the mountain you can see here int he background. I have looked on youtube for help, but the guides are outdated, and some just mention the different types of ore. I am terribly frustrated, because the game should be fun, but I am having difficulty trying to find cobalt. I find it terribly ironic that I can create a large container as long as I attach to a small head on a advanced rotor but I cannot attach that large container to my factory grid unless I can produce "metal grids" ![]() All I have found is ice, silicon, magnesium, and stone. I have made many hydrogen containers so I can fly about searching for cobalt. Probably from a drop beacon craft being parachuted in. And the only one I can is the Largest Container which requires "metal grids" which I have yet to find except one. I can for no reason install any containers to any of the tubes. This unfortunately is where my factory of sorts ends. Playing on survival mode, and made a nice drop fall for my mine where stone is run along a conveyor system that takes the stone into a Survival Kit, then the ingots are taken out and put into a Basic Asembler.

![]() ![]() Long story short Apple had to take a much less optimized approach to coding OSX during the Intel phase to accommodate CISC execution. PPC was also a RISC based design, so the code was smaller. In order to save multiple gigabytes of hard drive space there was a utility around at the time of OSX Leopard that would strip the Intel code from binaries if you had a PowerPC machine, which made them up to 2/3rd smaller in my experience. I had both an iBook G4 and a brand new Core Duo Mac Mini at the time and the Mini suffered from slowdowns and beach balls a lot more frequently than my trusty Book did. Not everyone here will remember this but when Apple switched to Intel they carried over the 512MB of memory base model machines came with, and it simply wasn’t enough for Intel versions of OSX. The number of functions the CPU can perform are reduced but the ones that are present are considerably faster.Īnd the second is code bloat. One is ARM processors run a RISC instruction set instead of CISC. Peace.Ī lot of folks think Apple are just being cheap, and I don’t disagree, it’s not like it costs that much more in parts costs to equip these machines with 16GB instead of 8GB, especially given what they charge for even the cheapest of their machines.īut there is technical merit to the “more efficient” claim for two reasons. Didn't keep my 2019 that long because of the transition and massive improvements to heat and battery life, but I plan to keep my upcoming MBP M3 Max for about that long!Īnyway, just thought that was interesting. Heck, I'm a professional and I kept my maxed out 2012 retina MBP for nearly 7 years. You can't tell me this 8GB system won't be crawling when it gets macOS 20 in six years! And a lot of regular people keep their computer that long or longer. For normal users, it will significantly shorten the usable lifespan of their computer with regard to future OS updates. And while it will work, evidence has shown that more memory helps, especially in AI applications for loading the model into memory, not to mention other applications like video rendering, etc. 8GB still isn't enough for a professional user if they ever plan to do more than one thing at a time. While I wouldn't recommend 8GB even to my grandfather, it's still interesting that there is something real and tangible to this whole story, as evidenced above. Memory compression goes a long way, and having unified memory can really help out apps like this that can be so GPU intensive doing AI stuff. So it seems like there is some real world evidence for this argument, although I feel like 12GB is probably closer to the real answer, and I thought as much when that story came out. ![]() ![]() The only use of CSV would be, if you find another tool merging a PDF Form with CSV, but I don't see that you could add data binding to a PDF, also not a PDF form. If you google PDF data binding you find something, but it's just PDF documents about data binding in programming, Java, JS C#, etc, so Google finds PDF as the search result format, PDFs about data binding, not PDFs doing data binding.Īs Griff says, you can automate the PDF forms you have, insert your data and when the PDFs are opened, these form elements remain form elements, they can be edited, unlike in usual PDF printing. A file will be generated for you which you can transmit over the Intranet, Internet or view with the Amyuni PDF Creator or the free Adobe Acrobat® Reader. The PDF would need to be like an Office document allowing data binding and allowing to set that in an already existing PDF document. RE: VFP and fillable PDF form data GriffMG (Programmer) 24 May 20 08:16ĪS your entry point is a PDF form, I don't see how you could tell it to use a CSV file as a data source. So your idea to only contribute the data in some form is what I would also lookout for, you're looking for ways to automate an empty PDF form, don't you? And that cycles back to Amyuni, that was capable to do that. But the main option it allows you to do is render the element differently than the native report engine, ie generate graphical snippets the report engine than patches into the overall report. You will have a hard time making use of reports, as I don't see a way of making a report control a PDF form input control by any means of the reports native behavior and the only way to intercept what is generated is with report listener events. But you'd need to be the Neil Armstrong making first steps with that and VFP. Still, perhaps that library, the libhpdf.dll, has the feature to create such elements in a PDF, too. In order to reduce the memory footprint and increase performance, PDF instructions are generated on the fly whenever library calls are made. Not sure if that still exists and still integrates with VFP, I have a long time not seen anything about that.įoxyPreviewer report apps use a pdf library to create PDF files, but they only make use of normal PDF generation, not PDF forms. The RTPDF-32 library is a subset of the Amyuni PDF libraries that can run under the RTOS-32 operating system or other systems with limited resources.
